About 60 attendees, mostly parents of incoming kindergartners, learned about the upcoming Batesville Primary School Dual Language Immersion Program Feb. 24 in the cafeteria.
“Part of our mission is to produce citizens who are ready for a global community,” pointed out director of student learning Melissa Burton. “Last summer our administrative team got together” for strategic planning. “One of our goals was to give kids the opportunity to graduate from Batesville High School bilingual and biliterate … We knew we needed to push a second language down to elementary school. Research shows the best time to learn a foreign language is when you’re young.”
