Chinese immersion school consortium gets grant

The BYU Chinese Flagship Program in partnership with the Utah State Office of Education (USOE) has been awarded a $1million grant by the National Security Education Program to assist in implementing K-12 Chinese education over the next three years. A consortium consisting of four Chinese Flagship Centers, three State Departments of Education and several school districts across 10 states will work collaboratively to implement the program. The BYU Chinese Flagship Center and the USOE will head efforts to create a model Chinese education program, implement the program in Utah, and then disseminate it throughout participating states and universities.
